Rem is one of the few shinigami who knows how to kill a shinigami. She gained this knowledge when she watched Jealous die. As a result of Jealous' death, Rem was left with a second Death Note.

In memory of Jealous, Rem decided to take the note to the girl, Misa, that he died for.
