BackgroundHinata is from the Hyuga clan's main branch. She is extremely shy and is easily intimidated. Her family looks down on her as unworthy of her clan, but she is still given special treatment. She has had a crush on Naruto for years, but every time she goes near him she blushes and is unable to form a proper sentence. Despite her quirks, Hinata is determined to be the best that she can.
Hinata uses the Hyuga clan's gentle fist taijutsu with the Byakugan. By seeing the body and its chakra points, she is able to push concentrated chakra though her hands and blast it though to her opponents organs. She does not seem as skilled in this fighting style as Neji, but she would be more of an opponent for someone without the Byakugan.
Hinata is in a squad with Shino and Kiba. During the first round of the chunin exams, Hinata attempted to help Naruto cheat. She did this because of her crush on him, but he refused out of fear. During the second exam, she fought her cousin Neji. In a battle of the Gentle Fist both seamed to be fending off each others blows. During the match, she was unnerved by Neji's declarations of her worthlessness, but Naruto gave her a pep talk that allowed her to find the strength to fight on. Despite her efforts, she lost to Neji with massive internal wounds. During the third round of exams, Hinata's wound continue to cause her pain. She was healed by Kabuto using a never before seen green chakra.
