Jutsu and Fighting Style

Kankuro controls puppets via charka strings coming from his fingers. The puppet is able to break apart into different pieces, use poison, change apperances, and extend a dagger from inside itself. He does not have good taijutsu so he hides himself and uses his puppet to attack.

Involvement in the plot

Kankuro is part of Gaara's squad. During the chunin exams, he fought a Sound ninja posing as a Leaf ninja. Later, he helped Garra get away from the stadium when he was injured. In order to buy time for Gaara, Kankuro fought Shino. Shino outmanuvered him and nearly drained his chakra to nothing.
